ART OUR WAY 2007 A SUCCESS

Close to fifty supporters of the Bridgeport Public Library gathered at the Library on Sunday to vote for their favorite pieces of art.  Art Our Way 2007 was sponsored by the Friends of the Library/ Bridgeport Public Library, raising funds for the future expansion of the library building.  Lisa Jacoby, Seattle artist/photographer (Bridgeport native) was the featured artist, displaying her unique and popular art and photography.  Organizer/Director of the art show was Friends of the Library member Paul Arellano from Bridgeport. 

Winners are as follows:

Landscapes Adult:  Jean Jensen, Along the Platte

Landscapes Youth:  Alyssa Jacques, Legends of the Fall

Still Life Adult:  Dennis Miller, Sunflower

Still Life Youth:  Kassandra Marx, Our Dining Room

Portraiture Adult:  Ken Pledger, Head Study

Portraiture Youth:  Katti Riggs, Papaw

Wildlife Adult:  L.L. Erickson, Prince of the Jungle

Wildlife Youth:  Ethan Nelson, Momma Mallard

People’s Choice Adult:  Ken Pledger, Two Heads Are Better Than One

People’s Choice Youth:  Ethan Nelson, Christmas Bird

The Friends of the Library wish to thank the community for all their support and attendance.

 

Books, magazines, cassettes, and cd loan periods are 2 weeks. Current magazines are 1 week only. Video/ DVD loan periods are 3 days.  Reference material cannot be checked out

FREE-FRIDAYs

Any items overdue, bring into the library (not the book drop) on Fridays during regular business hours to waive your overdue fees. Free-Friday does not apply to new releases.

DO YOU HAVE A LIBRARY CARD?To use any of the library services, including the internet, it is required you have a library card and be in "good standing" with library.  Registration of library card is free of charge.
